about

Parent's often tend to be people that we don't appreciate until our relationship with them has changed inexorably. I remembered my parents keeping home sacred day in and day out, and being constant loving figures for me. In repayment of that love I spent many years showing them indifference if not judgement...Fortunately life has a way of teaching you and humbling you in ways that you can scarcely deny. At the birth of my daughter I find myself reaching back towards the wisdom of my ancestors embodied in my parents, trodding their paths my own feet, and living in the miracle of life which I am, I am a part of, and is indescribable to me all the same.

lyrics

Remember as a young boy
He'd work all night and keep us whole
She always came home and kissed me good night

Home was safe and sound, tomorrow was for another day

Rush to grow up and get out
Wouldn't call Mama worry the hours away
Hopped on that flight see a tear down Papa's face

Home was safe and sound, tomorrow was for another day

Look at my girl ain't a baby no more
Sing her to sleep and tuck in at night
Yes I'll play the keys until you are in your dreams

I said home was safe and sound, tomorrow was for another day
